At our clinic in Guanaba we have a large concrete area for lameness work ups as well as a round yard and sand arena. Seeing your horse at the clinic ensures we have an appropriate safe work area for us and the horse, especially if we need a clean place to do nerve blocks or joint injections. We also have all our diagnostic equipment here such as ultrasound and radiographs as well as treatment options such as shockwave and Prostride.
It also saves you travel! We can also perform lameness evaluation at your property.

Other cases may require nerve blocks to localise the site of pain, combined with diagnostic imaging (using portable radiography or ultrasonography) in order for the vet to determine the structures involved and diagnose the cause of the lameness. The vet will then recommend appropriate management and/or treatment and give a prognosis for the injury.

More complex lameness cases may require an in-depth investigation.
